Planning your Post-Breast Augmentation Wardrobe

There are many benefits to undergoing breast augmentation, such as improved breast appearance and increased self-confidence. But one benefit that often gets overlooked when planning your procedure is the ability to look better in clothing.

It is likely that you will find the clothes you used to wear prior to breast augmentation aren’t ideally suited to accentuate your new breast implants. In order to look your very best after your procedure, you may want to invest in a new wardrobe that highlights your beautiful new breasts.

You may find that tighter tops or your old lingerie doesn’t fit properly anymore. Certain styles, such as bandage dresses, may actually squeeze and constrict your breasts while failing to provide the support you need. Halter tops may be a much better option. They typically complement the appearance of fuller breasts better, and they are much more comfortable than tighter tops.

Clothes that are custom-fit to your body’s natural curves are also a great option after breast augmentation. This will ensure everything you wear looks great on you while helping you strike a balance between comfort, support, coverage, and style.

You may also find that a wide range of beach attire is available to you for the first time. Bikinis which didn’t fit properly before breast augmentation might look great on you now that you have fuller, larger breasts.

Life after breast augmentation can be very exciting. Searching for new clothes to match your new body is just one of the many things you have to look forward to.

FDA Approves Teardrop-Shaped Silicone Breast Implants by Mentor

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved a new type of silicone gel breast implant called MemoryShape. The implant, made by Mentor, utilizes a teardrop shape in order to provide more fullness in the lower half of the implant and more closely mirror the shape of a natural breast.

Mentor’s MemoryShape breast implant was approved after 6 years of data were analyzed, indicating the implant meets all safety and efficacy standards required by the FDA. The use of silicone gel in these breast implants increases their ability to retain their shape.

This is the 5th silicone breast implant approved by the FDA for use in breast augmentation procedures. This provides women with greater choices, especially considering the fact that the overwhelming majority of breast augmentation patients prefer silicone implants over saline implants. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 72% of the 330,631 breast augmentation procedures performed in the United States in 2012 used silicone implants. This percentage has been steadily increasing in recent years due to the fact that silicone breast implants deliver results which look and feel more natural.

Dr. David Bottger offers a variety of silicone gel breast implants for patients in the Philadelphia area who would like to improve the appearance of their breasts. During your initial consultation, Dr. Bottger will discuss these options with you and recommend the ideal implant to achieve your aesthetic goals.
